New Rotation, New Gadgets?

I have finished my Ob/Gyn rotation, the longest rotation I have been in during clinical clerkship. Yes, it's one of the side effects the Pandemic has on my study. To be completely honest, it didn't matter, I like Ob/Gyn and got so many interesting cases during said rotation and hopefully I can give back more to the society later when I'm officially a medical doctor.

Now I'm starting in pediatric department, my last rotation in hospital, before moving on to forensic and community medicine rotation later on late October this year. Among many things I have prepared for this rotation is... a healthy phone battery. I guess this miscellaneous haven't really talked about during clerkship, but truly, having these things will ease your days as student doctor.

My multi-purpose lanyard

Basically, pediatric rotation involves a lot of consults, counting, and writing (especially for those long examination records (and their revisions that follow)). My colleagues who had finished the rotation before me had explained the flow of things in pediatric department, and many touched the topic of phone issues, pen issues, and how you cannot stop babies from being born, and therefore, consult issues.

As a way to make myself feel prepared and to tune down my anxiety, I brought my phone to @macberryjogja to have its battery changed (my battery health was only 72%). It costed IDR 450.000 for my iPhone 6S+ (the price varied from devices types). I must say this, my phone works like magic now! Truly, a healthy battery life is the door to a faster, more responsive, phone performance. Wondered why I hadn't thought of changing battery before? ... to make matters more fun, I decided to put on a screen guard for my old lady phone (which was never protected like that before, but this phone is so strong it defy physics, lol, just kidding), and a new phone case! Feels like a brand new phone for me. So happy!

How you're probably going to see me in the hospital

I also buy a new small calculator (IDR 15.000) and tag it on my lanyard (IDR 25.000) for easy access, along with my midline (IDR 10.000), my portable oxymeter (IDR 140.000), and my id card (or in this case, photo of my parents and I). I usually dress in my hospital gown, patterned scarf, my scrubs underneath the gown, my boots, stethoscope on my neck, and my multi-purpose lanyard, small notebook with beautiful print bought from @nawantera placed inside the pocket of my gown, infrared thermometer (IDR 240.000) inside my scrubs' pocket (still can't figure out how to hang this thing on my lanyard as it already feels quite heavy), pens in my pocket, and my (feels like brand new) phone in my hand.

The amount of love I have for this boots!

P.S: I already have the midline, oxymeter, and thermometer since the start of my clerkship (January 2019), the only new thing was the yellow calculator I bought online (from Shopee marketplace).
